Nisela Capital Investment Holdings is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Keitumetse Tebogo Mothibeli as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 August 2026. Her appointment marks an important new chapter for the Group as it continues to strengthen its investment capabilities, institutional capacity and long-term growth ambitions.
In her role as Group CEO, Dr. Mothibeli will provide strategic leadership across Nisela Capital and its subsidiaries and associated entities. Her mandate includes setting the Group’s strategic direction, driving sustainable growth, strengthening governance, overseeing investment portfolios and supporting the creation of long-term value across the organisation.
Dr. Mothibeli brings more than 15 years of multidisciplinary leadership experience spanning investment, corporate strategy, governance, business development and international partnerships across the public and private sectors. Her career combines commercial and investment leadership with a strong scientific and research foundation, providing a distinctive perspective on strategy, innovation and evidence-led decision-making.
Her professional journey has included leadership and experience across prominent organisations including Crystal Partners, Side Equity Ventures, Hightower Petroleum Africa, Maximum Africa L.E.O. and Adcock Ingram/The Scientific Group, reflecting the breadth of her career across investment, energy, business and science. This progression has equipped her with a cross-sector perspective that bridges scientific rigour with commercial strategy, investment and executive leadership.
Throughout her career, Dr. Mothibeli has developed extensive experience in identifying and evaluating commercial opportunities, designing investment strategies, negotiating strategic partnerships, mobilising capital and leading multidisciplinary teams. Her sector exposure extends across financial services, development finance, energy, mining, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, aviation, technology, healthcare and international trade.
She has worked with governments, development finance institutions, multinational corporations, international investors and entrepreneurial ventures, providing strategic oversight across different stages of the investment and project lifecycle - from opportunity identification and due diligence to execution, governance and operational optimisation.
Alongside her executive responsibilities at Nisela Capital, Dr. Mothibeli serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) of South Africa, one of Africa’s leading development finance institutions. In this capacity, she contributes to strategic decision-making, enterprise risk management, sustainability oversight, governance and organisational performance.
Dr. Mothibeli’s leadership credentials are complemented by a distinguished academic foundation. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Physiology, from the University of Pretoria, as well as a Master’s degree, Honours degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Bioscience from the University of the Western Cape.
Her scientific training has cultivated analytical rigour, advanced research capability, critical thinking and problem-solving skills that continue to inform her approach to executive leadership and strategic decision-making. She has also represented South Africa on international platforms, engaged with global investors and policymakers, and contributed to initiatives supporting industrialisation, infrastructure development, innovation, entrepreneurship, energy transition and inclusive economic growth.
